How did you find Stonewylde or did it find you

Stonewylde was recommended by a friend, the lovely Mel. And from the day Magus of Stonewylde arrived in the post I knew this was something really special. I was told the book was much more than very good which by chapter two I know it was and couldn't put it down.
Thank you Mel

Stonewylde Found Me

I was looking on line for groups to join and Stonewyled jumped out at me. I had gone through many but it was the beautiful Green that really grabbed me, so I looked around and knew Stonewylde was the group for me. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your community.

Internet

I was browsing the Internet and saw something mentioning Stonewylde and got the first two books straight off.....the rest is history. I recall when the first forum started there was only a few folk on there, compared to now, and it has been great seeing the Stonewylde family grow: the Stonewylde Effect LOL!!!!

The Old SIte

I was a member of the old site when there were not too many people around. Like Taz I notice how it has grown. I am so happy to see more and more folk reading and discussing the books and much more. I now have a new user name and have started again looking at this site often.

Hi all,

Hi all,

I've just been introduced to Stonewylde, so haven't even looked at a book yet....but i have just ordered the first two and i must say i am very excited. I love everything the book is about, i'm a big kid at heart and still indulge in as much imagination and fantasy as my two daughters.

I tried joining the Stonewylde forum, not this one, the other larger one but it doesn't seem to send me the registration emails. Really looking forward to getting involved so i'm sat here finger tapping lol.

Looking forward to the books.

Calv.

Hi Kit, pleasure to meet you.

Hi Kit, pleasure to meet you. I tried a few times this afternoon, checked all my other folders (junk/spam) but unfortunately nothing. I tried again just now, but still nothing. I'll try a few things tonight and if i still have no luck, i will get in touch.

Thank you for the help, and again, nice to meet you. (Itching to read your books) :)

I met the author

I found Stonewylde because I met Kit Berry at the Elf Fantasy Fair in Arcen (Holland). I think it must have been 2 years ago. She gave a very inspiring talk about how she created Stonewylde, which really appealed to me as I aspire to write a book of my own one day. I bought the books immediately afterwards and Kit Berry was kind enough to sign them. Because of a very busy personal life I haven't gotten around to reading the books until two weeks ago. I haven't been able to put them down since and am currently starting on Solstice. And I made sure my boyfriend will by me Shadows for my birthday next Thursday :).

Hope you get Shadows for your birthday!

Hi Immortal Elf. It's taken a long while to get around to reading the books! You probably met me too ... Mr. B. Glad you are enjoying the story so far and crossed fingers for getting Shadows on your birthday.

Do join the Stonewylde community at http://www.stonewylde.net where there is quite a lot going on. There are many fans on there including quite a few from the Netherlands.

Yes, I did meet you there :).

Yes, I did meet you there :). I know it's taken me ages to read the books, but I'm glad I finally got around to read them (and chose them over so many other books which remain in my book case, still unread). Thanks for the link to the other website, I'll definitely check it out :).

Stoneywylde

I was introduced to Stoneywyle through browsing on Amazon Site and it was recommended as I had read Clan of the Cave Bear series. Totally hooked, and now have downloaded all books to kindle and am reading Book 4.

Stonewylde found me (or more importantly Kit found me)

For my birthday this year my boyfriend asked me what i would like to do to which my reply was that i wanted to visit a particular store that is based in Reading which is the closest to where we live down in Yeovil, Somerset. Having only ever been able to shop with them online so i thought this the best chance as i myself cannot drive and we had the whole day to spend together doing whatever. So on Aug 30 off we trotted and whilst wandering the main street i spotted Waterstones and decided to spend some birthday money. Whilst there looking for another of my favorite authors, who should walk up to me but the one and only Kit Berry ^_^ (hi kit) who introduced herself and her books and asked if i had heard of them, i now sit in dismay of never hearing of them before, but i was intrigued from the get go and decided to buy Magus of Stonewylde. I'm posting today because i have only half an hour ago finished that book and am now pining for the other three (which i almost bought later the same day but was persuaded to read the first before i bought them >.< ) What really got me the most was that like everyone else i could not bare to put it down once i had picked it up, the most alarming fact of this being that although i started it Tuesday morning (yesterday) and finished Wednesday eve (tonight) it in reality only took me 11 hours to complete but due to having to work as well as sleep i had to split it over the two days

Thankyou so much Kit for personally introducing me to Stonewylde, but what makes this truly special is that i discovered it on my birthday (I'm only sorry it took me a week to finally pick it up) and i fully intend to search the rest out this weekend and return to Yul and Sylvie, I'm desperate to know what happens next.

Bright Blessings and thankyou so much again

Great news, Tara!

Hi Tara - I remember the Birthday Girl in Reading! I'm so very glad you enjoyed Magus. It's always difficult when people say "Oh I'll just try the first one" because of course I totally understand people's reluctance to fork out on the whole series before trying it. But so many people like you then regret it and wish they'd bought all four books at once, and I want to tell them this but don't want to be pushy! Anyway, the good thing is that the books are available - some folk have had to wait years to find out what happens next. Mind you, when you reach the end of the fourth book you'll be cursing the wait until next autumn for the fifth and final book! Happy reading - thank you for taking the trouble to tell us your story here, and why not join us on the forum? Stonewylde is a whole new world and before you know it you'll be camping with us in May at the Moongazy Camp in Avebury! Bright blessings to you xxx

At the Hairdressers

Whilst having my hair cut at Nevaeh, Albert Road, Southsea, Becki introduced me to “Stonewylde” and I have to say that I was instantly hooked. I read as often as I can and not even sleep, work or day to day activities got me away from these books. Bankrupt, starving and busting for a pee, but it was worth it. Kit is a Genius.

So you got a bit more than a hair cut then, Sue! Bekki is an amazing fan - have you seen her Stonewylde tattoo? I'm so glad you enjoyed the books - and the fifth one will be out in October. If you can come along and meet me in November when I'm in Southampton West Quay Waterstones, that would be great!

Magus of Stonewylde

I read the review of the lastest Stonewylde book in the latest Pagan Dawn and have just finished the first book in the series. I will definitely buy the other 4. What starts off as a fairly light, innocuous read becomes darker and more violent as the book progresses. The descriptions of nature are lyrical and the atmosphere of this closed community is powerfully portrayed. Unputdownable but sad to reach the end. For me the book was even more special because I am bedbound and housebound with M.E. and chronic intractable migraine attacks. I am no longer able to go out for walks to enjoy just being surrounded by nature. The description of the workings of the Hall reminded me of happy times I spent at Buddhist communities in Devon and Scotland. The book is so well written that I felt I was actually there as the story unfolded. It completely captivated me and I was able to forget about being in pain whilst I read it. More than just a good read.
